Most A1 residential floors are installed in 1–2 days. Here’s the hour-by-hour reality so you know exactly what’s happening in your garage — and why each step matters.
Day 1 — Prep (the part that decides everything)
8:00 AM — Walkthrough & moisture test. We re-verify the quote, mark cracks and spalls, and take moisture readings. 8:30 — Diamond grinding. Industrial grinders with HEPA vacuums open the concrete’s pores — this is the step DIY kits and cheap quotes skip, and the reason coatings peel (see hot tire pickup). 11:00 — Repairs. Cracks routed and filled, spalls patched, joints treated. 1:00 PM — Primer / moisture barrier. If your slab read damp, a vapor-barrier epoxy primer goes down first. 3:00 — Base coat. 100% solids epoxy, rolled in a controlled sequence.
Day 2 — The pretty part
8:00 AM — Flake broadcast or metallic pour. Flake is thrown to full rejection (complete coverage); metallics are hand-manipulated — no two alike (see design ideas). 11:00 — Scrape & vacuum. Loose flake comes off. 1:00 PM — Polyaspartic topcoat(s). UV-stable wear layer, double coat on our Full Flake System.
After we leave
24 hours: walk on it. 72 hours: park on it. We do a final walkthrough with you, hand over your written warranty, and leave the space cleaner than we found it. Prep checklist for homeowners: how to get your garage ready.
